Since the QI wireless standard was released many wireless charging cases have come and gone for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s. After all, just because there is a wireless standard doesn’t mean that the standard wireless charger is made at a high quality. There are still many factors in play including the materials used, the manufacturing process, and the company’s quality assurance.
The standard has been out long enough that we are ready to crown the Cheotech Wireless charger the best wireless charger for the iPhone 5s.
What Makes this the Best?
One of the awesome things about the QI standard is that companies don’t have to spend millions of dollars on research and development to come up with their own wireless solution an patent. Instead they can use the standard and their own engineers can spend more time on developing a product instead of inventing the technology. This keeps the cost of manufacturing very low which in turn passes the savings on to the customers. So, any QI charger you see with be much cheaper than the predecessors such as the PowerMat which entered the market at will over $100 for the case and base.
So not only is the Cheotech a very affordable wireless charing solution (costing only $40 at the time of this publication for the wireless charging case and base) but it is also well made and has stood the test of time as a reliable solution as well.
It doesn’t get any easier than this. It’s literally plug and play. No instructions necessary. Plug the base into the wall and put the case on your phone. That’s it. Nothing to it.
Easy to Use
Simply place the iPhone on the dock and a blue light illuminates letting you know the phone is charging. It’s as easy as one, blue, three…
The Case is Great
Since this is a charging case it would stand to reason that there would be an expectation of some protection to the phone itself. This case offers that in a minimalistic design that doesn’t add a bunch of bulk like others on the market but still provides a great deal of protection. I’m not saying you should throw your phone into the payment but if you did happen to drop it it would likely survive. With this case there isn’t the feeling of wireless charge first and protection second. Both were clearly on the mind of the designers.
So if you are looking for a wireless charging solution but don’t want to break your wallet for a name brand this is an excellent choice that will both charge wirelessly and protect your phone. At less than $40 this wireless charging case and base costs less than many cases on the market. In fact, this maybe something to consider if you are just in the market for a new case and haven’t ever even considered wireless charging before.

It is frustrating trying to locate the end of your sync cable on the side of the bed. I don’t know about you but there is little to no light when I try to plug in my phone at the end of the day. After all, it’s not like I’m going to plug in my phone while the lights are on and then go turn them off only to trip over a stray shoe on my way back to bed. No, that would be ridiculous. Well, enough of my ramblings. This isn’t even a problem anymore at all! Because now there is an iPhone 5/5s sync cable that lights up on the end so you will never have to struggle to find it again!
The Zeetron Light Up Lightning USB Cable is by far the best iPhone 5 charger we have seen. Now there are a ton of cheap chargers out there on Amazon that just have horrible reviews and yet for some reason people must still be buying them because the negative reviews just keep piling up! Don’t waste your money on one of these no matter how little cash it seems. Unfortunately, I speak from experience. These are junk! The Zeetron is one of the few, possibly only, iPhone 5 chargers that has a 5 star rating and plenty of positive reviews. It’s not as cheap as the crappy ones but at $14.99 it’s still much cheaper than buying one from Apple.
Even if you don’t struggle in the dark this cable can still save you time and struggle. The LED on the end of the cable changes color letting you know when your phone is completely charged without even having to hit the unlock button. Here’s how it works:
When the cable is plugged into a power source, such as your computer or a wall charger, the end will light up blue making it easy to find. Once the cable is plugged into the iPhone or iPad it will change to red indicating that the device is charging. Once a full charge is obtained the end of the cable flash blue and you are ready to go! With the LEDs it makes it easy to know when your phone is fully charge with just a simple glance.
So what do you think? Is this something you would buy? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! If you are ready to take the plunge and buy one of these for yourself or as a gift just hit up the link to Amazon below.
